The awards presented at the ceremony included honors for veteran actors Mammootty and Satish Shah, singer Alka Yagnik, actor-filmmaker R Madhavan, cricketer Rohit Sharma, and others. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were also among the attendees.

"An honor like this is a reflection of a 5-decade-long journey that wouldn't exist without you, my incredible audience. Thank you for the endless love, trust, and support that keeps me going every single day. I dedicate this to the beautiful world of cinema and all of you,' Mammootty posted on X.

At the first Civil Investiture Ceremony held on May 26, 66 Padma Awards were presented. That event saw Bollywood actor Dharmendra, who passed away in November 2025, being honoured posthumously with the Padma Vibhushan, which was received by his wife, actor-politician Hema Malini.

This year, the government has announced a total of 131 Padma Awards. These include five Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri awards. Among the awardees, 19 are women, while 16 individuals will be awarded posthumously.

Announced annually on Republic Day, the awards recognize distinguished contributions across fields such as art, literature, education, medicine, science, sports, public affairs, trade and industry, social work, and civil service.
