New York: At just 19, Spain’s team player Lamine Yamal inspired his nation to FIFA World Cup glory with extraordinary leadership, vision, and fearless football beyond his years. He became one of the youngest captains to lift the world’s most prestigious trophy and further cemented his place among the game’s brightest stars.
The future of world football has arrived — and his name is Lamine Yamal.
From the opening whistle to the final whistle, Spain looked like the better side. They controlled the tempo, created more quality chances, and played with outstanding teamwork, discipline, and composure. Argentina fought hard until the very end, but today Spain simply outplayed them.
On Sunday, July 19th, the attendance at MetLife Stadium was an incredible 80,683 people! The stadium was completely packed, creating an electrifying atmosphere for the FIFA World Cup Final.
Congratulations to Spain on a well-deserved FIFA World Cup 2026 Championship! They truly earned the victory and proved they were the best team on the biggest stage.
The goalkeeper of Spain made several outstanding saves that prevented Spain from scoring even more goals. Spain, on the other hand, came out playing aggressively right from the beginning and maintained that intensity throughout much of the match.
I went there embracing the spirit of America by wearing a Team USA jersey, and while in the gallery, I also proudly wore my Bangladesh National Football Team jersey. It was my way of celebrating both my adopted homeland and my country of birth.
Spain’s captain is Rodri, a player of Manchester City. He got the best player of the tournament award.
Rodrigo Hernández Cascante, known as Rodri, is a Spanish footballer and defensive midfielder for Manchester City. In 2024, he became the first Manchester City player to win the Ballon d'Or, and the second Spanish man to do so after Luis Suárez in 1960. Rodri has been a key figure in Manchester City's midfield, contributing to domestic and Europe.
At just 19 years old, Lamine Yamal cemented his place among football’s brightest stars by helping lead Spain to the 2026 FIFA World Cup title, becoming the first teenager to win both the UEFA European Championship and the FIFA World Cup. His vision, playmaking ability, composure, and maturity have earned him worldwide admiration.
Beyond his achievements on the pitch, he has also drawn attention for openly expressing his faith and voicing his support for the people of Palestine —earning respect from many who admire his willingness to stand by his convictions.
Overall, it was a truly memorable experience for me and the more than 80,000 fans who filled MetLife Stadium yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.
