The PM was welcomed with chants of “Modi Modi” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai”. Cultural performances showcasing classical Indian dance forms, including Kathak, Odissi, and Bharatanatyam, were also organised to welcome him.
Expressing his appreciation, PM Modi said on X, “A memorable welcome from the Indian community in Nice. Though they may be several kilometres away from home, the bond of our diaspora with India remains as strong as ever.”
The enthusiastic reception continued in Slovakia, where members of the Indian diaspora turned out in large numbers to greet Modi during the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the Central European nation in decades.
Community members said the visit marked a significant milestone in India-Slovakia relations and reflected India's expanding diplomatic outreach across Europe. Slovak musicians of the Lúčnica Ensemble performed Vande Mataram on the Prime Minister’s arrival.
Calling the welcome in Bratislava "truly exceptional", PM Modi said on X, "I am grateful to the Indian community for its warmth and affection. Such gestures reflect the enduring bonds that unite our nations and strengthen the friendship between India and Slovakia."
