From Big B to SRK: B-Town actors cast votes in Lok Sabha polls

From superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan to Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar -- Bollywood actors in Mumbai stepped out to cast their votes in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha Election, which was held on May 20.

After voting, actors Akshay Kumar and Farhan Akhtar proudly showed the indelible ink mark on their fingers. Akshay told PTI news agency that he wants "his India to be developed and strong". The 'Mission Raniganj' actor hoped that the voter turnout will be good.

Urging youngsters to step out and vote, Akhtar, who was accompanied by his sister and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar and mother Honey Irani, said that he voted for "good governance".

While actor Aamir Khan and ex-wife Kiran Rao posed for cameras after voting at a polling booth in Bandra, Amitabh Bachchan and his wife Jaya cast their votes in the Juhu area of Mumbai.

Shah Rukh Khan, wife Gauri, son Aryan, daughter Suhana and younger son AbRam were also photographed entering a polling station in Bandra. Superstar Salman Khan's father Salim Khan and mother Salma too cast their votes.

Taking to his X, SRK encouraged people to immerse themselves in the celebration of democracy and get their fingers inked on voting day. "As responsible Indian citizens we must exercise our right to vote this Monday in Maharashtra. Let's carry out our duty as Indians and vote keeping our country's best interests in mind. Go forth Promote, our right to Vote."

Actress Hema Malini, the BJP candidate from Mathura Lok Sabha constituency, hoped that voters’ turnout would be good. Other Bollywood celebrities who marked their attendance were Sanya Malhotra, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Sigh, Govinda, Manoj Bajpayee, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, filmmakers Ashutosh Gowariker, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Subhash Ghai, and noted poet and lyricist Gulzar.
