MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh Engages with Indian Diaspora at Bharat Milan in Egypt

Cairo: Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh participated in Bharat Milan, a cultural festival in Obour City, Egypt, where he engaged with the Indian diaspora and emphasized their vital role in promoting India-Egypt relations.

In his address, he praised their contributions towards achieving a Viksit Bharat and strengthening cultural ties. Singh also planted a Neem sapling in Cairo as part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, underscoring India’s commitment to environmental sustainability. He paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi, reaffirming the longstanding friendship between India and Egypt.

During his visit, Singh met with Egyptian officials, including Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, discussing ways to enhance the India-Egypt Strategic Partnership across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, trade, technology, and tourism.

He also attended the prize distribution ceremony of the “Glimpses of India” painting competition in Luxor, where he congratulated the winners and appreciated the enthusiasm, creativity, and artistic expression of the young participants. Singh highlighted that such cultural initiatives strengthen people-to-people ties and foster greater understanding between India and Egypt.
