New York: Distinguished religious statesman Rajan Zed has been inducted as a member of Reno Police Chief’s Advisory Panel.

This panel brings together broad stakeholder representation and is designed to go both ways: members receive regular updates from Reno Police Department (RPD) and have a real voice in how RPD's work aligns with Reno's service needs and community values.

It will be led by Reno Police Chief Corey Solferino and attended by RPD leadership.

Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, has read invocations (opening-prayers) in 365 legislative bodies in 47 US states and Canada, including US Senate and US House of Representatives. Bestowed with “World Interfaith Leader Award”, he is on the Advisory Board of Interfaith Peace Project, Senior Fellow and Religious Advisor of Foundation for Religious Diplomacy, etc. Zed has been a panelist for “On Faith”, a prestigious interactive conversation on religion produced by The Washington Post; and produces a weekly interfaith panel “Faith Forum” in a USA Today group newspaper since February 2011, which brings various religions/denominations together.
