Triveni Times honors community media journalists in Queens

On December 18, 2024, the Corona district Queens Public Library witnessed a significant event as Triveni Times, a leading media network, honored seven prominent Community Media Journalists  for their unwavering commitment and contributions to the field of journalism.The awards were presented on behalf of Assemblywoman Jennifer Rajkumari, by her Deputy Chief of Staff Neil Trivedi who commended the honorees for their relentless dedication to amplifying voices within and beyond their communities. 

The awardees included Manzoor Hussain from Dunya International & Global TV, Harpreet Singh Toor from Main Stream Media, Samrat Karki from Hello America, Lovlu Ansar from Bangladesh Pratidin, Yuyi Jin from The China Press, Manoj Basnet from Annapurna Media Network and Dave LLavanes from GMA Network Inc. all celebrated for their impactful work in diverse areas of journalism. High ranking officials and dignitaries including district leaders, city officials, elected representatives and members of various online media networks graced the ceremony, adding to its significance. 

The Deputy Chief of Staff also distributed certificates of appreciation to individuals who have significantly contributed to the growth and success of Triveni Times. He praised their efforts in fostering meaningful community engagement through media.

The event was masterfully hosted by the dynamic community leader and co-founder of Triveni Times, Nabaraj KC. The program opened with an introductory note by Kham Bhatta, setting the stage for an evening of inspiration and recognition. Purna B Lama delivered the welcome remarks, emphasizing the importance of journalism in bridging cultural gaps and empowering communities.

During the event various cultural  dances were showcased. Among them were Bangladeshi dance, Filipino Folk Dance,  Chinese group dance, Indian dance as well a Nepali folk dance by small children. 

This award ceremony stands as a testament to the dedication and influence of South Asian Journalists and highlights the pivotal role of media in driving social progress. Triveni Times reaffirmed its commitment to celebrating  excellence and fostering collaboration within the community.  

Triveni Times was recognized by NYC Mayor's Office with the citation; Congresswoman Grace Meng recognized Triveni Times Day for January 18th 2025, Queens Borough President recognized with citation, Assemblymember Steven Raga recognized with citation and Assemblymember Jennifer Rajkumar recognized with a proclamation.

'Triveni Times' is a prominent Nepali community media outlet based in the United States, particularly known for serving the Nepali diaspora.
