Girish and The Chronicles (GATC), Sikkim’s most iconic rock export, are back with another groundbreaking achievement. The band is making history as the first-ever rock band from India—and Sikkim—to be featured on one of the biggest entertainment platforms in the world: the global sensation and fan-favorite talent show, America’s Got Talent (AGT).
AGT, part of the world-renowned Got Talent franchise created by Simon Cowell, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Known for its grand stage and global reach, AGT continues to be the ultimate dream stage for aspiring artists across genres.
This milestone season features a star-studded panel of judges: Simon Cowell – the iconic creator and famously sharp-eyed judge; Howie Mandel – comedian, producer, and beloved TV personality; Sofía Vergara – award-winning actress, best known for her role as Gloria in Modern Family; Mel B (Scary Spice) – global pop icon and member of the legendary Spice Girls. The ever-charismatic Terry Crews returns as the host, adding his signature energy to the show. Earlier this year, in March 2025, GATC flew to Hollywood for their AGT performance that promises to showcase Sikkim and India’s talented rockers at its finest to a worldwide audience.
America’s Got Talent Season 20’s first episode premiered on May 27th. This isn’t just a big moment for GATC—it’s a proud chapter in the story of Sikkim’s legacy and Indian rock.
