Atlee, the filmmaker, who broke box office records with Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Jawan', is gearing up to present superstars Salman Khan and Rajinikanth together in one of the biggest films in the history of Indian cinema, media reports said.
Atlee has been in touch with Salman Khan for two years for the film, which is slated to go on floors next year, according to news portal Bollywood Hungama. The report added that the film, whose title is yet to be decided, is expected to blend high-octane action with the unique working styles of both actors.
“Sun Pictures will be producing the film and they share a family-like bond with superstar Rajinikanth. Atlee on the other hand has been in touch with Salman Khan for the last two years. They are confident to get both Rajinikanth and Salman Khan on board,” a trade source told the portal.
“Salman Khan aims to start Atlee film after wrapping up 'Sikandar'. Superstar Rajinikanth on the other hand will take this up after 'Coolie'. It is a combination to be remembered for generations’” the trade source further said.
Salman is all pumped up to celebrate Eid with his fans with his upcoming film 'Sikandar'. The actor is reuniting with A R Murugadoss after 'Kick'. This film will also star Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. He also has 'Tiger Vs Pathaan' with Shah Rukh Khan.
As per initial reports, Atlee was supposed to work with Telugu actor Allu Arjun for the film, however, the director presented the idea of his film to Salman, who was reportedly enthusiastic about the project.
