Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) condemned the mindless slaughter in the strongest terms. “We pray for the departed atmas and the terrorized families left behind. Today’s terror attacks have once again brought to the fore the darkest, most visceral face of anti-Hindu hate. We call upon leaders in DC, Ottawa, Delhi and around the world to fight back against this rising wave of Hinduphobia,” said CoHNA president Nikunj Trivedi.
What makes matters worse is the institutional consensus to downplay or explain away violence when the victims are Hindu. There is a reluctance to even recognize anti-Hindu hate. Human rights groups are either slow to react or almost never respond with vigor when Hindus are attacked for their religion or their mandirs and murtis are desecrated. Academics routinely ridicule ‘Hinduphobia’ as a politically-motivated term or a manufactured grievance. Western media innocuously referred to the perpetrators of attacks as “gunmen”.
In a press release CoHNA urged lawmakers at all levels in the US and Canada to publicly condemn this incident in the strongest terms.
“Further we ask for them to: Designate Pakistan as a State Sponsor of terrorism with immediate sanctions; Hold a congressional hearing about plight of Kashmiri Hindus; Call to recognize the plight of Hindus and other minorities targeted by Islamists; Ask for a UN inquiry into the state of Kashmiri Hindus and their persecution at the hands of Islamic terrorists.”
CoHNA urged lawmakers in India to enhance security for Hindus across the country, to track Hinduphobia and to ensure the Indian security, judicial and legislative apparatus undertakes a holistic review of the problem.

Hindus Advancing Human Rights Initiative (HAHRI), an arm of HinduPACT, unequivocally condemns the brutal terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack, which occurred on April 22, 2025, targeted a group of unarmed civilians, killing at least 28 and injuring several others, solely because of their religious identity.
According to eyewitness accounts and preliminary reports, the attackers confirmed the victim was "not a Muslim" before executing him in cold blood. One survivor recounted in horror: “The gunman said my husband was not a Muslim and then shot him.”
This chilling statement exposes the religious hatred that motivated the attack—an expression of the genocidal ideology that continues to plague the region.
This act of terror occurred during Vice President J.D. Vance’s diplomatic visit to India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s simultaneous engagement in Saudi Arabia. As Ajay Shah, Founder and Convenor of HinduPACT, pointed out: The message from the terrorist state across India’s western border is clear.
On behalf of American Hindus, we express our heartfelt sympathies to the families of the victims.
Rahul Sur, Executive Director of HAHRI, made an urgent call to conscience. “HAHRI unequivocally condemns the heinous, cowardly Pahalgam attack. We stand unflinchingly with the families of the victims and call upon human rights organizations to unequivocally condemn this terrorist act. The world has been warned repeatedly about this Islamic fundamentalism. It must be crushed. It is time to sanction Pakistan.”
Deepti Mahajan, Co-Convenor of HinduPACT stated: “It is pertinent to note that HAHRI has submitted a formal complaint to the United Nations accusing Pakistan of a 'drip, drip genocide' of its minority Hindus, Christians, and Sikhs.”
HAHRI calls for:
The families of the victims deserve more than mere words. They deserve justice. The global Hindu community demands that such crimes no longer go unnoticed, unpunished, or explained away under the guise of “regional tensions.”

President of the Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP), Adapa Prasad, said, “We are deeply concerned by the persistent cross-border sponsorship of terrorism, which continues to foment violence and instability in Jammu and Kashmir. Reports of the deliberate targeting of specific communities, including Hindus, highlight a sinister agenda aimed at disrupting the social fabric and unity of India.” OFBJP General Secretary Vasudev Patel added, “Such acts of terror serve no cause and only inflict suffering and grief. We call for swift justice against the perpetrators and urge that all necessary support be provided to the victims and their families.”

The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) released a statement condemning the attack. It said, “We are heartbroken by the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, where Hindu pilgrims were targeted, religiously profiled, and murdered, reportedly by a Pakistani Islamist terrorist outfit, according to preliminary reports.” HAF further emphasized that Pakistan remains one of the world’s leading incubators of terrorism and urged a united stance between India and the United States to confront the threat.
