The month of April was awash with celebrations as Indians ushered in Baisakhi and the New Year with joy and festivities. Amidst the beats of drums and cymbals, the festivals were celebrated between April 13-15 in different states of India, and by the diaspora, with devotion, enthusiasm, and cultural traditions.

While Punjabis marked Baisakhi with spirited celebrations, south Indians saw a burst of festivity with Puthandu and Vishu. The cultural crescendo continued with Assam celebrating Bohag Bihu and West Bengal and Maharashtra celebrating Poila Boishakh and Gudi Padwa, respectively.

Most of these festivals are celebrated around the harvest season, making them especially meaningful for communities as they symbolize hopes for prosperity, abundance, and a successful year ahead. A few glimpses of the celebrations...
