It is 11 pm on November 5th, the election day, and one-half of the country is shocked as to how President Donald Trump won the 2024 election in a landslide by winning all the battleground states. The election was decided in the Eastern time zone. The Harris camp was in disbelief as they felt like they were hit by a hurricane! Once again, Donald Trump eviscerates another Democrat candidate in his run to the Whitehouse!
Coming back from the future to today — a couple of days before election day — I am going to give out details as to why November 5th would end as I predicted above.
I always talked to people and took their pulse as to how they felt about a candidate and how they manifested it to the outside world. It has been the case that people who want to vote for Trump, would not come out and say that they will, as they will be considered as racists and misogynists, and will be vilified and ostracized by their friends and family. As it was in 2016 and 2020, there is at least a three per cent silent vote for the 45th President, and once again the pollsters will be proven wrong in calling this election to be close.
It all started in 2016 when Trump lost the popular vote but won the battleground states by under 77,000 votes. Similarly, Biden won these states by around 44,000 votes in 2020 (and won the popular vote). In a winner-takes-all system, the margins are always tight. Nationally, in the last two elections, Trump had a 47 per cent ceiling, and this will be the time when he is hitting the 50 per cent mark. (Explains the rationale for his rally at MSG in NYC; he also wants to win the popular vote).
The premise of this article is the First Amendment and the Freedom of Speech, which are akin to my beliefs and values. What I saw in 2020, is censorship by major news and social media sites by inhibiting Hunter Biden's laptop and the damaging information it had on then-candidate Joe Biden. All major newspapers dubbed that article as Russian propaganda and the only daily that published it, The New York Post, was totally discredited. (FBI later confirmed that the information on the laptop was genuine).
I always wondered, what if Elon Musk owned X (previously Twitter) in the year 2020 and that information came out without any censorship? We could have had a different outcome in that election. I believe Trump could have overcome the 44,000 vote difference, win his reelection and we would not have all the current mess on our hands! I am happy that in 2024, in addition to X, Facebook reinstated President Trump, and now it is an even playing field for all. (Of course, outlets like CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, NYT, and others are still extremely biased against, in their coverage of all conservatives, including President Trump).
After this election when the Democrats do an autopsy/postmortem on the elections, they will realize that the most important thing is the quality of a candidate. Vice President Kamala Harris left the 2020 primary race even before the first votes were cast. She is just a bad candidate! She could never put two cohesive sentences together on any subject without a teleprompter. Her ambivalence to the plight of citizens impacted by the migrant crime; a feeling that she is a virtuoso in all matters like immigration, border security, inflation, and economy (but she is not), lead her to a dogmatic belief that she will not lose and will be crowned the Queen!
The next time around the party seriously needs to nominate a centrist candidate like a Bill Clinton or a Barack Obama. (Yes, both are centrists, and I voted for them). One candidate that comes to my mind is my friend New York Democratic Congressman Thomas R Suozzi (Congressional District 3). I will bet you a dollar that he would beat any Republican any day!
When it comes to local elections, President Trump is leading in Nassau County by a few points (he lost Nassau in 2020 by about 10 points). This could potentially affect all down ballot races in all of Nassau and New York state. The Democrat candidates could be decimated, except for centrists like Congressman Tom Suozzi (Please vote for him if you are in New York-Congressional District 3).
The House will remain with the Republicans, and they will win the Senate also with a new 53-47 margin or better. To all Indian Americans who are reading this article, who call Harris, sister Kamala, a reminder. She identifies herself as an African American, as it is politically expedient, even though she is bi-racial. This election is not about the race or sex of a candidate, it is about who would turn the country around. Unfortunately, Harris cannot walk away from the Biden/Harris record, and she is stuck with it. When 79 per cent of the population feels that the country is going in the wrong direction, this is an unwinnable election. As Bill Clinton’s architect of his victory, James Carville once said, “it is the economy stupid".
