Jaisingh Bhandari elected national delegate for Democratic Convention from Virginia

Prominent Indian American leader and GOPIO Virgina President Jaisingh Bhandari was elected official Delegate to the National Democratic Convention in Chicago from August 19 to August 21 that would formally nominate President Joe Biden as the party presidential candidate.

Joe Biden is the presumptive Democratic Party candidate for the presidential election. An influential Indian American community leader, Bhandari, has been elected in Richmond, Virginia as a National Delegate at the State convention with a majority vote.

He has been endorsed by President Biden. "It is a great pleasure and honor to share the news that I have been elected as (an) official delegate at the upcoming Democratic National Convention to be held in Chicago, Illinois, from August 19 to August 21st as the party's candidate for the November 5 presidential election. The nomination process would be completed by Democratic delegates' votes from across the country," he said.

Bhandari is a lifelong member and Central Committee member of the Virginia Democratic Party.

He is a well-known and successful leader for the Asian and Indian communities in numerous capacities both in India and in the United States.

He is former vice chair and commissioner of the Virginia Public School Authority Board. He has served in several social, charitable, and religious organizations' boards.

He has more than 25 years of experience in running successful businesses and industries and was appointed by the Indian government and the Madhya Pradesh government in numerous capacities.

He was President of the Jain Society of South Florida and Director in JAINA. He is also in the advisory board of the Eye Foundation of America.
