The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) hosted its Annual India Leadership Summit 2024 in New Delhi on Oct.14.
It follows on the heels of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States in September for the Sixth Quad Leaders’ Summit and the United Nations General Assembly, and aims to build on the momentum of strengthening ties between Washington and New Delhi.
Discussions focused on key areas including enhancing supply chains, boosting semiconductor investments, advancing AI and next-gen technologies, bolstering defense ties, promoting clean energy, and expanding bilateral trade. Both countries remain committed to securing a free and open Indo-Pacific region, which is seen as a mutual strategic priority.
The summit brought together senior Indian cabinet ministers, USISPF’s Board Delegation, global business leaders, and policymakers for high-level discussions. Key areas of focus included trade, defense, technology, education, energy, start-ups, healthcare, and fostering people-to-people ties.
The USISPF Board delegation, led by chairman John Chambers, included key figures from Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and private equity investors. Notable participants include Michael Miebach, CEO, Mastercard; Frank St. John, COO, Lockheed Martin; Alex Rogers, president of Qualcomm Technology Licensing & Global Affairs; Ryan Roslansky, CEO of LinkedIn; Prashant Ruia, director of Essar Capital Ltd.; Amarjyoti Barua, CFO of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.; and Bipul Sinha, CEO of Rubrik.
John Chambers, chairman of USISPF and Founder & CEO of JC2 Ventures, expressed optimism about the future of US-India relations. “The partnership between the United States and India has never been stronger. As two of the world’s leading democracies, we have the unique opportunity to co-create the next generation of technologies and fortify our bilateral ties across critical sectors such as digital transformation, clean energy, and defense. This is India’s century, and I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead as we work closely with Indian leaders to build a shared and prosperous future for both nations,” Chambers stated.
Dr. Mukesh Aghi, president and CEO of USISPF, said “Our aim is to deepen economic ties and explore collaborative solutions that will strengthen the strategic partnership between Washington and New Delhi.”
