The Consul General of India in New York Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, will inaugurate the sixth International Hindi Conference, Americas, on October 25, 2024, at the Indian Consulate in New York City.
This year’s conference “aims at suggesting ways to expand and strengthen the field of Hindi instruction around the world,” according to a press release from Hindi Sangam Foundation, the main organizer, in collaboration with the Indian Consulate.
A number of Hindi experts and university teachers from various parts of the USA and India have agreed to attend the conference. They will present their work and discuss latest innovations in Hindi learning. The academic sessions/panels will be held on the second day of the conference and will end with a Hindi play directed by a NJ-based theatre company, Prayog.
This is the third event of its kind to be held in the Consulate premises in about 8 years. The first one, known as the Third International Hindi Conference, was held at the Consulate in 2016.
“The sequence was interrupted because of the onslaught of the Covid pandemic. HSF organized the Fifth International Hindi Conference in 2023, which was inaugurated by the then Consul General Randhir Jaiswal”, said Ashok Ojha, president of the foundation and coordinator of the Sixth International Hindi Conference.
“We are very thankful to the Consul-General Honorable Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, for maintaining the sequence and allowing us to hold this event every year,” Ojha added.
