New Delhi: The ICC Men's T20 World Cup-winning Indian team was set to be honored by a victory parade in Mumbai from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium. Led by Rohit Sharma, the team was scheduled to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in New Delhi, after which they were set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi before departing for Mumbai.

The BCCI arranged for a kilometer-long victory parade from Nariman Point to Wankhede followed by a small ceremony at Wankhede Stadium. “We want to enjoy this special moment with all of you. So let’s celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive and Wankhede,” said Rohit Sharma on X.

The World Cup winning team was originally scheduled to depart from Barbados on July 1 but the departure was delayed due to Hurricane Beryl, which intensified from category 3 to 5.
