The first session is likely to be fiery with the opposition set to attack the NDA government on share market ‘scam’ and NEET irregularities.

New Delhi: The first session of the Parliament after Lok Sabha elections will be held from June 24 to July 3, newly inducted Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kirren Rijiju said. According to Rijiju, the first three days of the session will see the newly-elected leaders taking oath or affirming their membership of the Lok Sabha and electing the Speaker of the House.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to introduce his council of ministers to Parliament after the President's address on June 27. The PM is also expected to respond to the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address in both Houses of Parliament.

While the presidential address is expected to recount the achievements of the past NDA governments and articulate a vision for the next five years, the debate on the address is likely to see the Opposition aggressively attack the government.

The session is likely to be fiery with the opposition recently claiming that there was a share market scam and also flagging alleged irregularities in the NEET exam.

The new Lok Sabha will also see the return of Trinamool Congress’s Mohua Moitra, who was expelled from the 17th Lok Sabha for sharing her login credentials with the office of businessman Darshan Hiranandani to post questions.
