Singapore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for home after concluding his two-nation visit to Brunei and Singapore during which he held wide-ranging discussions with the top leadership of both countries to build upon the historic ties, strengthen the partnership, and attract investment from the two Southeast Asian nations.

"A successful visit concludes! PM @narendramodi emplanes for New Delhi after an outcome-oriented visit to Singapore," the Ministry of External Affairs posted on X. Modi said his visit to Singapore has been a "very fruitful one”.

During his visit, India and Singapore signed four MoUs focusing on digital technologies, semiconductors, health, and skills development. The bilateral relationship was elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership aimed at boosting economic ties and collaboration in various sectors.

PM Modi, during the business round table with leading Singaporean CEOs, invited investments in India across sectors like aviation, energy, and skill development. Highlighting India's rapid progress over the past decade and its projected growth as the third-largest economy, Modi emphasized the country's political stability, ease of doing business, and reform-oriented economic agenda. The CEOs praised India's economic growth, pledging to increase investments over the next three years. At PM Modi's roundtable, Singapore companies committed an investment of over Rs 5 lakh crore (around $60 billion) in the next few years.

Earlier, Modi said that his two-day visit to Brunei Darussalam - the first ever bilateral trip by an Indian PM to the southeast Asian nation - reflected New Delhi's deep desire to boost bilateral ties and will further boost action on India's 'Act East' policy and its vision for the Indo-Pacific.

India and Brunei called for leveraging respective strengths - including in fields of technology, finance, manufacturing, and processing - as PM Modi wrapped up a "historic" visit to the country. During their extensive bilateral talks held at the Istana Nurul Iman in Bandar Seri Begawan, PM Modi, and Brunei Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah witnessed the signing and exchange of several agreements, including an MoU on cooperation in the operation of telemetry, tracking and telecommand station for satellite and launch vehicles.
