Nigeria car bomb attack

Nairo May 2 At least nine people have been killed in an apparent car bomb attack in the Nigerian capital Abuja, officials said.

The explosion happened in the suburb of Nyanya Thursday, BBC reported.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

The Islamist militant group Boko Haram has previously targeted locations in Abuja, the report said.

Most of Boko Haram's attacks have been in the north-east of Nigeria.

But the bombing April 14, which killed 70 people, raised fears that the militants could be trying to expand their area of operation.
