Protect your skin from winter allergies

Is your skin prone to allergies in winter season? Taking care of your skin gets tough in winters. Here're some tips that can surely help you.

The Sinusitis: A common disease in winter months is swollen sinus. Best way to keep it under control is drink lots of water and take adequate rest.

The strong winter sun: Sun rays can prove to be harmful for your skin during winters. It can result in severe skin allergies and rashes. So, keep yourself protected from sun by using good quality sunscreen that will ward off all the ill-effects of the UV rays.

Stay away from smokers: Another thing to keep in mind is to avoid sitting in close proximity to smokers as it will aggravate coughing and breathing problems in those who are sensitive to winter allergies.

Food for thought: Certain foods like milk, yoghurt, cheese, ice cream, banana, cucumber and eggs can cause an allergic reaction and aggravate your asthma problem. It's very good if you take fresh fruit juices and green tea in winters which are rich in antioxidants and boost your immunity.

Intake of fatty foods rich in Omega 3 fatty acids: Add foods like soya bean, pumpkin seeds, walnuts and salmon which are rich in omega 3 fatty acids.

These have natural anti-inflammatory properties and keep your internal system strong and protected.
