Indian Origin Hematologist Oncologist selected to the American Academy of Pediatrics

Dr. Akshat Jain M.D., M.P.H. was chosen by the prestigious pediatric health organization AAP to serve as a reviewer for Stem Cell Transplant Review Group though the section of Hematology Oncology in the United States.

As the officer Dr. Jain will be in powerful role to design and augment policies governing the care of children undergoing stem cell transplantation for the American Academy of Pediatrics which is the largest pediatric publishing program in the world, with more than 300 titles for consumers and over 500 for physicians and other health-care professionals. The guidelines are followed across the world as standard for child care. It is a professional membership organization of 64,000 primary care pediatricians, pediatric medical sub-specialists and pediatric surgical specialists dedicated to the health, safety, and well-being of infants, children, adolescents and young adults.

Dr Jain has an extensive experience in the field and has published nationally and internationally extensively. He has served as a consultant to the American Cancer Society, Harvard University among other organizations and national governments to enhance the care for children suffering from blood and cancer disorders over the last 10 years. He is the recipient of the Citation of honor from the Nassau County, American Society of Hematology Leadership Institute award and prestigious public health award from his alma mater Hofstra University in New York.

Dr. Jain begins his three year term in 2017 and will be joined by other national experts to produce policy recommendations for various facets of stem cell therapy.
